The Third Surgery

Okay, everybody, on three, here we go. 1, 2, 3.
(Aidan is down there somewhere)
Wednesday, December 1.

It takes a lot of skilled people to move a ten-year-old boy from his bed to a special bath lift, especially when he has no muscle tone in his right limbs, very easy, for instance, to dislocate a shoulder.

The surgeons suspected an infection had started in Aidan's head and had scheduled several antibiotic rinsing and cleaning surgeries over the next few weeks.

In the bath, however, it was discovered that the incision in his head was not just draining a few drops of fluid, as it had been expected to do for some time. Instead, it was leaking pus. A lot of it. The 1 in 10 chances of an infection starting had come true big time, and Aidan was scheduled for immediate surgery to clean it up.

When the surgeon told Aidan he was going to do one major surgery, instead of three small ones, Aidan gave him the thumbs up, grinned and said, "So, do I get to go home sooner then?"

Aidan, a few minutes before leaving for his third surgery,
with his faithful monkey, Rocky, also with a head bandaged.

I have just prayed that the infection will get cleared up and that Aidan will soon be back on a smooth track to recovery.

I have posted a sticky note on my mirror as a reminder to pray. I pray other times too, but I still keep the note up. What a huge grin he has here. He looks like a delightful, lovable boy.

Dear Lord, I pray you will watch over Aidan. We know you love Aidan unconditionally, and we know you can work miracles on his behalf. We pray for your blessing on Aidan and his family. We trust him to your care. Amen

Adding our prayers that the infection will quickly be healed and Aidan will recover far beyond what the medical people say is humanly possible because we have an Awesome God!

That smile speaks of courage and hope. Praying that Aidan's sparkle will be a blessing to many. And also praying for the skilled hands of the surgeon to be guided by the Almighty Physician. May the whole family sense the presence of Jesus as this next hurdle is conquered.

My prayers continue for Aidan and your family. May God give all of you the strength you need to support Aidan and to remember that the Lord is in control. He can bring something good out of the very worst situation.

Judy and I stand with you during these days and share, though quite imperfectly, your hurt and bewilderment. We pray for Aidan's complete recovery. INI. Dave

Praying for Aidan! Infection is such a sneaky, nasty thing, and I pray this surgery has totally cleansed it. God grant a full, safe healing and full mobility for Aidan, and keep everyone's hopes up during the recovery time.

Love the monkey's bandage--that says there are good people caring for Aidan in the hospital.

What a delightful picture of a very courageous young man. We will continue to pray for him, for his doctors and care givers, and for all of you who surround and support him. And so will other friends in our community.

Holy Lord, we thank you that you are the great Physician and that right now you are holding Aiden in your capable hands as the medical team work with him. We thank you that you have a special plan and purpose for his life and that you are working a mighty work in him and through him. May many souls come to know our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ as their own personal saviour. That they will accept that the grace so freely given and share it as freely as Aiden and his family are sharing right now as they put complete trust in You. We praise you, Loving God, for your wonderous works and mighty acts, knowing that you can move mountains with just one small effort. Thank you, Lord, for the love and comfort that you are providing to Aiden and his family at this trying time. In Holy name of Jesus we pray,
Amen

Hi Jack,

What you wrote really struck home to me. I tend to look for the the things that could happen and wonder how to handle them before they come up. The Lord is teaching me that worrying is saying I don't trust Him. Chuck Swindol spoke about this on the radio the other day and I was hit between the eyes. God is gracious. Kathy and I, in moving form JAARS to Meridian, MS have been singing "One Day at a Time," as well. When Kevin was born with his hydrocephellus condition, Judi and I were on that same thought plan.

May the Lord guide and bless each of your family during this "Day at a Time" period. Ps. 91:1-2

In Christian love, Ron

I am really sad with you. That doesn't mean that I don't pray with faith and hope. I am simply talking about the difficulty of the present pain watching your grandson suffer. I know you would gladly trade places with him if you could. I am simply with you guys where you are right now. With much love, Jan

Holy Father,
We thank you for your sovereign acts which we do not understand and that you are working things -both good and bad- for our good. We do not understand why Aidan should be sick at this time but we are trusting You that you will bring him out and glorify yourself even in this situation. We thank you for your healing hands in the situation even now in Jesus' name. Amen.

Also praying for the Lord's very special blessing to rest over Cheryl & Keith, that they will be strengthened anew each day & will sense the Lord's peace at all times.
