Aidan Goes to the Next Level

Aidan knows all about progressing to the next level, especially in video games. Even with one hand he beats his opponents and keeps moving up.

Today, Wednesday, December 15, one month after his first of three brain surgeries, he improved enough to win approval to move to the next level. Tomorrow, Thursday, he is moving out of the Stollery Children's Hospital to the Glenrose Rehabilitation Hospital.

The number and intensity of Aidan's seizures has diminished in the last two weeks. Sometimes he goes for several hours without one, nine hours is the record thus far. Pray that these seizures will continue to get fewer and more controllable with medication.

The third surgery was to clear up an infection. Aidan is on thrice-a-day intravenous antibiotics for at least another week. The doctor warned us that it will take three months before they can be sure that the infection is totally gone. Pray to that end!!

Aidan has shown some amazing improvements in his bodily movements and functions. "Our Christmas Miracle Boy" is what the nurses call him. They are happy for him, but sad to see him go, since they love his smile and his positive, full of faith, attitude.

A study in concentration on the video combat game.
"Feel my arm, Grandma!
I can move it to the left AND to the right!"
Thank God, another set of muscles is beginning to respond to signals from Aidan's brain.
And for my latest trick,
I can lift my hand and almost touch my nose.
Now if only I could get those fingers to straighten out!
In the Stollery Gift Shop, on the phone to his Mom. "I wonder if Savannah would like a little fuzzy stuffed animal for Christmas"

Praise God for all He's done, is doing and will do for Aidan!

May God continue to strengthen all who are committed to come, and stay with him during these many days!
