Four Pieces of Good News! or I'll Be Home for Christmas!!

Good News #1) Aidan had a Family Day Monday, with his dad, his mom and his sister, playing games, talking and practicing transferring him from bed to wheelchair, from wheelchair to toilet and back again, and from wheelchair into bathtub. (Secret hint--see #4).

His dad stayed Monday night and Jo took over from 9:30am to 4:30pm until aunt Stacey came in for the night shift. Jo took a few pictures of the major exercises and records Aidan set.

#2) The longest Aidan has been able to stand up with the tilt table thus far is eight minutes. This time with the help of toys to throw into a basket with his good hand, and his tongue sticking way out, he lasted for 25 minutes!! Yippee! With a brace on his right elbow,  and his right arm in a sling, he exercised his right shoulders by batting a large ball tossed by the physiotherapist 30 times!

#3) A special team of physiotherapists who focus on leg exercises taught Aidan to lift his right leg nearly a foot, from the hip, a huge accomplishment only three weeks after the last surgery!
#4) On Thursday Aidan is going home for Christmas! Yes, he will be  sleeping in his own bed again after six weeks of hospital beds. He can hardly wait to tootle around in his own house in his wheelchair, and figure out new ways to tease his sister Savannah!
Thank you, Lord God for the healing and strengthening You have done!
