Thursday Aidan had a major UP, namely, he not only walked all the way from his room to the physio-therapy department, he climbed UP one whole flight of stairs, instead of taking the elevator! A first!
On the DOWNside, he had to say goodbye to Grandma Popjes since she is leaving to join Jack in California. By afternoon nap time he was feeling DOWN. "My life sucks," he said, "Two days at home feels like one day, and three days at the rehab hospital feels like two weeks."
(His time at home is always the weekend, nothing but relax and have fun, while his weekdays at the hospital are filled with school and therapy. A different life. But understanding that still doesn't make the DOWN and UP.)
It was hard for Jo to leave him feeling DOWN. But his Saskatoon Grandma and Grandpa are coming to be with him during the days to come. That will cheer him UP.
