Yesterday one of Keith and Cheryl’s friends wrote a long email to her circle of friends in which she detailed a number of emails, visits with people, stories, memories, and Scriptures coming together in an amazing coincidence that led her to confirm that God wants to heal Aidan miraculously, without the aid of surgery. She committed herself to pray and fast during the first week of November, and asked her friends to join her. How encouraging!
We are, of course, eager to join her, knowing that some problems are not solved by faith and prayer alone. Jesus himself said so when he healed a boy who exhibited seizure symptoms very much like Aidan’s. “However, this kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting” (Matt. 17:21 NKJV).
For months, Jo and I have prayed focusing on God’s unfailing love and His unimaginably great power. He commands His people to “call on His Name” meaning to focus on character traits such as His love, power, mercy, glory and might.
We ask you to consider joining us in this special time of prayer and fasting for Aidan during the first week of November. How you fast is up to you. God may lead you to exercise some kind of appetite denying discipline, giving up a certain meal, or some kind of food or drink during this time. The pre-op MRI brain scan is scheduled for November 12. We know God could heal Aidan’s brain by then and cancel the need for the surgeries on the 15th and the 24th. Let’s pray that He will!
